About the Project

Project: Hellfire was my side project during the development of Jumpstart Apocalypse. During our holiday breaks I wanted to focus on something different to get my mind off the zombies so I started rebuilding an old prototype.

This project was heavily inspired by Devil Daggers. I really loved the demonic theme it had going and I'd never seen a game where projectiles would shoot from within the player's palm.

So with this inspiration, I was set out to make an over the top action game where enemies would ruthlessly hunt the player down.

I wanted to practice more efficient and optimized code while handling some advanced animation blending and rigging using some Mixamo animations for prototyping. I learned a lot about of efficiency and great tools that can be used for these kinds of games, especially making the player feel powerful amongst the wave of enemies. 

I'm really not sure what direction I want to take this project as I'm fairly stumped on how I want to progress the development.
