Introduction

Jumpstart Apocalypse VR was the second end of year project I got to work on, this time with Four months to work with. I teamed up with 8 other AIE Students to work on the project.
It was my first major VR project I had worked on and definitely not the last. To make the development easier I had to invest in the Oculus Quest, which made tasks such as QA testing and measuring the scale of the environment miles easier for me.
Working on a VR project was a massive risk I took because I had never designed a game around VR mechanics before, and I think the end product turned out great given my lack of experience in VR and the small team we had compared to other groups.
Roles for this project:

-
Audio Designer

Level Design Process
We wanted an interesting environment that would feel different and fresh in a zombie game so we based our level off a neat little french town "Colmar". Colmar felt perfect for us with its colourful and vibrant aesthetic which is exactly the direction we wanted for a lighthearted zombie game.
